Die WM hat begonnen

Lizotte klettert auf Rang 3

Portland. In der zweiten Runde konnte sich Simon Lizotte mit dem zweitbesten Rundenergebnis (50), er spielte elf unter Par, auf den dritten Rang vorspielen. Am Ende des ersten Turniertages liegen nur Paul Ulibarri, der in der zweiten Runde eine 49 schaffte, und Richard Sysocki, dem dieses super Ergebnis in der ersten Runde gelang, vor dem Bremer.

Nach der ersten Runde in Portland lag Simon Lizotte simon lizotte 12mit sieben unter Par auf Rang 16. Er benötigte 54 Würfe. Es führte Richard Wysocki mit zwölf unter Par (!) vor  Nikko Locastro (-10) und acht Drittplatzierten mit jeweils neun unter Par. Darunter Avery Jenkins, Paul McBeth, David Feldberg und Paul Ullibari.

Beim den der Weltmeisterschaft in Portland an der Westküste der USA vorgeschalteten "Spaßspielen" mit Weitwurf-Wettbewerb, Putting-Contest und Skillshot Challenge verpasste der Deutsche Simon Lizotte knapp das Treppchen. Den Weitwurf-Wettbewerb gewann David Wiggins (High Point, USA) mit 657 feet (200,25 Meter). Simon Lizotte warf 585 feet (178,31 Meter), was ihm Platz vier und 50 US-Dollar einbrachte.

Heimsieg für TV Fredeburg

WT14: Vierte Vereinserfolg auf heimischen Anlagen

Bad Fredeburg. Der TV Fredeburg ist das dritte Team nach den DG Lünen Lakers und den DiscGolfern Münsterland, die einen Vereinserfolg bei der WestfalenTour feierten. Den Gastgebern gelang dies auf den eigenen Bahnen in Bad Fredeburg, wo sie gleich drei Vereine (DG Lünen Lakers, Discgolf Deutschland  und GW Kley) auf den zweiten Rang verwiesen. Schon zum zweiten Mal zeigten die DiscGolfer Münsterland, dass sie mit Bergen wohl ihre Probleme haben, denn der Zweite in der aktuellen Vereinswertung kam nicht über Platz fünf im Sauerland hinaus.

Heimsieg für Michi Stelzer

Zum 19. Mal trafen sich die Discgolfer in Söhnstetten zur Albuch Classics.

Youngster Max Tkocz überzeugt

Söhnstetten. Zum 19. Mal versammelten sich die ambitionierten Discgolfer in Söhnstetten. Die Albuch Classics, ein B-Turnier der GermanTour stand an. Neben einigen deutschen Spitzenspielern waren auch zwei Gäste aus der Schweiz dabei, unter anderem Paul Francz, der Chef der Europameisterschaft Ende des Monats.

Drei Mal 18 Bahnen auf dem EM-Kurs von 2008 standen unter der perfekten Regie von Turnierdirektor Dennis Stampfer an. 36 Open-Spieler, fünf Frauen, sieben Junioren sowie je elf Master und Grandmaster, unter ihnen mit Hartwig Henrich (Scheibensucher Rüsselsheim) ein Legend-Akteur, insgesamt kämpften also 70 Teilnehmer um GT-Punkte, Preisgeld und gläserne Pokale.

Durch einen fulminanten Schlussspurt sicherte sich Michael Stelzer, im vergangenen Jahr „nur“ Achter in Söhnstetten, 2014 wieder den Sieg.

Ein fast dramatisches Finale

Däne gewinnt 3. Flensburger Spinners-Cup

Flensburg. Nach einem Jahr Pause luden die Nordic Spinners Flensburg wieder zu einem B-Turnier auf den Campus ihrer Universität ein. Trotz der zeitgleichen European Masters in Stockholm bekam TD Florian „Uve“ Struve ein starkes, komplettes Teilnehmerfeld zusammen. Zufrieden zeigte er sich, dass auch wieder einige Dänen den Weg über die Grenze auf sich genommen haben: „Wir möchten gern noch mehr mit den Dänen zusammenarbeiten. Da aber die meisten Spieler weiter weg von der Grenze wohnen, ist es nicht so einfach. Durch das Preisgeld kommen zumindest Spitzenspieler aus dem Nachbarland zu uns.“

Stockholm. Nach der ersten Runde und damt 18 Bahnen trennen schon 22 Würfe das Schlusslicht von der Spitze. Aus deutscher Sicht höchst erfreulich ist, dass Europameister Simon Lizotte glänzend in die European Masters 2014 im Järva Discgolf-Park in Stockholm gestartet ist. Der Bremer führt mit zehn unter Par gemeinsam mit dem Dänen Karl Johan Nybo und dem Amerikaner Will Schusterick, dem Vierten der Weltmeisterschaft des vergangegen Jahres, das Feld an. Alle drei benötigten nur 54 Würfe in der ersten Runde. Auch die führende Frau, Europameisterin Ragna Bygde, die Schwedin war Vierte der Weltmeisterschaft im vergangenen Jahr, hat mit 63 Würfen den Kurspar unterspielt. Dem zweiten Deutschen, dem dies am ersten Turniertag noch gelang, war Christian Plaue (63).

3. Flensburger Spinners Cup

Kevin Konsorr zittert um Startplatz

flensburg v 01Flensburg. Nach einjähriger Pause laden am Wochenende die Nordic Spinners wieder ein. Der 3. Flensburger Spinners Cup, ein B-Turnier der GermanTour, wird auf dem anspruchsvollen Kurs auf dem Universitätsgelände ausgespielt. Obwohl einige deutsche und dänische Spitzen-Discgolfer in Stockholm beim zeitgleich ausgetragenen European Masters weilen, haben die Spinners ein starkes Teilnehmerfeld zusammenbekommen. Zwei Tage vor dem Tee-Off ist das Feld komplett besetzt und auch einige namhafte Akteure sind im hohen Norden dabei.

Die lFlights der ersten Runde stehen

Stockholm. Insgesamt 135 Männer, darunter gleich 35 mit einem Rating von über 1000, und neun Frauen aus 14 Ländern treten beim European Masters 2014 im Järva Discgolf-Park in Stockholm an. Gespielt wird über drei Runden (von Donnerstag bis Samstag täglich eine) mit jeweils 18 Bahnen sowie am Sonntag ein Finale über 18 Bahnen. Aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum ist lediglich die Schweizerin Natalie Holloköi (PDGA-Rating 913 bei der Qualifikation für Stockholm) am Start. Deutsche Männer sind hingegen stark vertreten.

European Masters 2014: Noch zwei Tage

Weltspitze zu Gast in Stockholm

Stockholm. Es wird sicherlich ein Riesenevent, denn in dieser Woche versammeln sich beim European Masters 2014 zahlreiche Topspieler der PDGA-Rangliste im Järva Discgolf-Park. Angeführt wird die illustre Starterliste vom Weltmeister Paul McBest, der mit seinem 1048er Rating auch knapp diese Liste beherrscht. Nur einen Zähler weniger weißt das Rating von Richard Wysocki auf, der 2013 die Stockholm Discgolf Open (SDGO) auf der gleichen Anlage vor Vize-Weltmeister David Feldmann (1042), Rang drei der Setzliste, gewann. Platz vier geht an William Schusterick (1042) und Rang fünf an Nathan Doss (1041). Dann folgt mit Simon Lizotte (1034) der erste Nicht US-Amerikaner. Direkt hinter dem Europameister belegt der Däne Karl Johan Nybo (1029) den zweiten Startplatz, der in den Top Ten nicht von Amerikanern besetzt ist.

Kurs beschnuppern und Waschtag

Stockholm. Noch drei Tage bis zum ersten Tee-Off bei den European Masters 2014 in Stockholm. Gespielt wird auf der im Mai 1995 eröffneten, rund 30 Hektar großen Pay2play-Anlage Järva Discgolf-Park im Osten der schwedischen Hauptstadt. Der Järva Discgolf-Park hat drei Neun-Körbe-Parcours und eine Sechs-Körbe-Putt-and-Approach-Anlage. Zentrum des „Himmels auf Erden“ für europäische Discgolfer ist die Villa Albastro mit Anmeldung, Pro-Shop, Kiosk und Restaurant. Beim European Masters 2014 steht direkt an der Villa Albasrto das Turnierbüro.

Gelungenes Anfänger-Turnier in Wischlingen

High Noon mit 26 Teilnehmern

Dortmund. Am Sonntagmittag, High Noon am 13. Juli, luden Josef Rippel und Dirk Haase zu einem Anfängerturnier nach Wischlingen auf die Bahnen im Revierpark ein. "Das Turnier war mit 26 Teilnehmern sehr gut besucht", freuten sich die beiden TDs, die zunächst die erschienen Gäste begrüßten und über den Verlauf der Veranstaltung informierten.
