Die lFlights der ersten Runde stehen

Stockholm. Insgesamt 135 Männer, darunter gleich 35 mit einem Rating von über 1000, und neun Frauen aus 14 Ländern treten beim European Masters 2014 im Järva Discgolf-Park in Stockholm an. Gespielt wird über drei Runden (von Donnerstag bis Samstag täglich eine) mit jeweils 18 Bahnen sowie am Sonntag ein Finale über 18 Bahnen. Aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum ist lediglich die Schweizerin Natalie Holloköi (PDGA-Rating 913 bei der Qualifikation für Stockholm) am Start. Deutsche Männer sind hingegen stark vertreten.
Angeführt von Europameister Simon Lizotte (1034) versuchen neun Deutsche am Sonntag im Finale gut dabei zu sein. Die größten Chancen hat natürlich der Bremer Simon Lizotte, der in Stockholm zumindest der europäischen Konkurrenz zeigen will, dass nur er für den Sieg bei der Europameisterschaft in Genf (20. bis 23. August) in Frage kommt.
Ambitioniert sind auch der Grebensteiner Christian Plaue (1009) und der Wolfenbütteler "Komet" Elias Güldenhaupt (1005). Tobi Behrens (980), Marvin Tetzel (977), beide ebenfalls aus Wolfenbüttel, sowie der Kölner Ralf Hüpper, der Tee-Timer aus Süddeutschland Marian Ludwig und der Berliner Greg Marter (alle drei 976) und Jörg Eberts (968) aus Greifswalde werden alles geben, um weit vorn in der Siegerliste aufzutauchen.
Simon Lizotte (DiscGolfer Münsterland) vom Pro-Team Discmania kommt sogar für den Sieg in Frage. Dazu muss er aber im Järva Discgolf-Park konstanter als im Vorjahr bei der SDGO, die allerdings teilweise anderen Bahnen ausgetragen wurde, agieren. Sein Frühjahrsaufenthalt in den USA dürfte aber für mehr Selbstvertrauen beim amtierenden Europameister gesorgt haben, so dass der Titelgewinn unter normalen Voraussetzungen in greifbarer Nähe sein dürfte.
Größter Konkurrent aus Europa dürfte dabei der Däne Karl-Johan Nybo (Bild links) sein.
Für Plaue und Güldenhaupt sollte die Top 25 möglich sein. Der Rest sollte darum kämpfen, sich am Ende in der oberen Hälfte des Teilnehmerfeldes wiederzufinden.
Auf dem 2772 Meter langen Parcours im Westen Stockholm ist bei den Frauen die SDGO 2013-Siegerin Valarie Jenkins große Favoritin. Bei den Männern gehören alle bis hin zum auf Platz 22 gelisteten EuroTour-Sieger aus Beckum, dem schwedischen zweifachen Ex-Europameister Christian Sandström, zum Favoritenkreis, denn wie Christian Plaue völlig zurecht aus dem Järva Discgolf-Park berichtet, verzeiht die Anlage und das Teilnehmerfeld keine Fehler.
Am Donnerstagmorgen um 8 Uhr geht der erste und um 14 Uhr der abschließende Flight auf die 18 Bahnen bei den European Masters. Die deutschen Spieler sind über das gesamte Feld verteilt:
