Erste Favoriten zeichnen sich ab

Die Wahl zum Discgolfer und Newcomer des Jahres ist gerade 24 Stunden 
eröffnet und schon zeichnen sich Favoriten ab. Aber selbstverständlich ist der erste von 53 möglichen Abstimmungstagen noch nicht vorentscheidend. Eine erhoffte Tendenz zeigt sich auch schon. Die Discgolfer sind selbstbewusst und schlagen über die jeweils fünf von der Redaktion discgolfen nominierten Spielerinnen und Spieler Akteure für beide Wahlen vor.
Es ist schon am ersten Tag vorgekommen, dass jemand sowohl für die Wahl zum Discgolfer des Jahres als auch für den Newcomer des Jahres nachnominiert wurde. Diese Stimmen werden am Ende natürlich zusammengezählt und der Kategorie zugeschlagen, in der die oder der Nachnominierte die größere Zustimmung erhalten hat.

Elias Güldenhaupt auf Platz zwei der deutschen PDGA-Rating-Liste
Wolfenbüttel. Kurz vor der Deutschen Meisterschaft 2013 bei den Tee-Timers in Wolfenbüttel wurde ein neuer Name in der Discgolf-Szene geraunt - Elias Güldenhaupt. Der damals volljährige Junioren-Teilnehmer beeindruckte einerseits durch sein Spiel und andererseits durch seinen komentenhaften Aufstieg. Praktisch aus dem Nichts holte Güldenhaupt den Deutschen Vizemeister-Titel der Junioren. Nur in Südniedersachsen wussten damals schon einige Discgolfer, welches Potential der Seiteneinsteiger mitbringt. Inzwischen hat Elias Güldenhaupt mit 1005 das zweithöchste PDGA-Rating aller Deutschen hinter dem Ausnahmespieler Europameister Simon Lizotte (Bild unten links).

discgolfen legt Turnierrangliste auf
Erstmals bei den Turnieren der DiscGolfer Münsterland am 9. Februar in Telgte und 10. Februar in Münster wird es neben den Divisionssiegern gemäß den Vorgaben der Discgolf-Abteilung im DFV auch eine Wertung in den Kategorien A bis C geben. Dazu hat discgolfen alle deutschen GermanTour-Turniere, die PDGA-Turniere in Deutschland, die nicht Teil der GermanTour waren, die Deutsche Meisterschaft, die Europameisterschaft, die Weltmeisterschaft und die PDGA-Turniere im Ausland, an denen Deutsche erfolgreich teilnahmen, der vergangenen zwölf Monate ausgewertet. Eingeflossen sind die Ergebnisse von 56 Turnieren zwischen Chili-Open 2012 und dem 6. Nikolaus-Turnier in Rüsselsheim. Unabhängig von den Divisionen wurde als Kriterium für die Punktvergabe allein die Wurfzahl bei den jeweiligen Turnieren verwendet.

Ex-Weltmeister muss auf A-Turnier verzichten
Hartmut "Hartl" Wahrmann, der deutsche Mr. Frisbee, musste zwei Tage vor dem Tee-off beim ersten von zwei A-Turnieren der GermanTour verletzt absagen. "Es ist sehr ärgerlich, aber auf ärztlichen Rat hin, will ich lieber meinen Arm noch schonen. Immerhin steht bald in Colchester die Europameisterschaft an", erklärte der Lünener auf Nachfrage von discgolfen.de.
Zuletzt hatt sich Hartl zum geteilten Sieg in der Masters-Division in Flensburg gequält. Sein Verzicht in Söhnstetten muss dem Akteur der DiscGolfer Münsterland zwar nicht alle Chancen in der GermanTour rauben, wirft den in England in der Grandmaster-Division startenden Vereinschef der Lakers Lünen aber ein gewaltiges Stück zurück.
Auch den geplanten Start beim B-Turnier in Potsdam unmittelbar vor der EM wird der Lünener absagen.

Sven Rippel knackt die 1000
Der 17-jährige Sven Rippel, Discgolfer von GW Marathon Münster, überspringt beim jüngsten Rating der weltweiten Discgolfer-Vereinigung PDGA die 1000er Marke. Mit 1001 ist er hinter dem US-Amerikaner Jared Roan weltweit die Nummer zwei der Discgolf-Amateure.
