In der Vereinswertung der WestfalenTour 2014 bleibt es spannend
Beckum. Mit dem vierten Vereinssieg beim siebten Turnier der WestfalenTour 2014 bauten die DG Lünen Lakers ihre Führung vor den DiscGolfern Münsterland von GW Marathon Münster wieder aus. Erstmals kamen sieben Vereine in die Punkteränge.
In der Vereinswertung erhält der Siegerverein jeder Klasse zehn Punkte, der Zweite neun Zähler, der Dritte acht und so weiter bis zum Zehnten, der noch einen Punkt gutgeschrieben bekommt.
Zur WT-Halbzeit trennten den Führenden Lünen Lakers und Münster nur fünf Zähler. Beide Vereine hatten je drei Turniere für sich entscheiden können. Durch den Vereinserfolg in Beckum liegen die Lünener nun 13 Punkte vor den Münsterländern.

Auch um Platz drei wird hart gerungen. Durch ihren starken Auftritt beim siebten WT-Turnier verdrängten die Meinerzhagener ihre sauerländischen Nachbarn aus Bad Fredeburg auf den vierten Platz. Dies kann sich beim achten WT-Turnier schon wieder ändern, denn dann haben die Bad Fredeburger Heimvorteil. Angesichts der Sommerferien in Nordrhein-Westfalen und des zeitgleich in Dassel ausgetragenen GT-Turniers ist sogar ein neuer Goldmedaillen-Gewinner möglich. Immerhin hatten die beiden Vereine in Meinerzhagen schon gemeinschaftlich Silber gewonnen.
Einen ganz starken Auftritt in Beckum legten auch die im Verein Discgolf Deutschland organisierten „Vereinslosen“ hin. Mit 21 Punkten schrammten sie nur um einen Zähler an Platz drei vorbei.
Neu in die Vereinssiegerliste spielte sich beim ersten Auftritt in der Discgolf-Szene der neue DFV-Verein GW Kley aus Dortmund. Damit ist der bisherige Rekord von sechs Vereinen in den Punkterängen aus Dortmund geknackt, denn Vertreter von sieben Vereinen punkteten im Phönixpark. Die Aufnahme von GW Kley in den DFV hat auch direkt Auswirkungen auf die Punkte für Vereinslose in der Vereinswertung, denn einige Punktesammler gehören ab sofort zu den Discgolfern aus Kley.
