Halbzeit in der WestfalenTour

Schon 114 Discgolfer starteten bei der ersten Regio-Tour in NRW

Münster. Initiiert durch die DiscGolfer Münsterland führen in diesem Jahr die Discgolfvereine Westfalens eine gemeinsame Turnierserie durch, die am 12. August im Phoenixpark in die zweite Hälfte geht. Schon 114 Discgolfer waren bei den Turnieren - immer am zweiten Samstag im Monat und immer über zwei Mal zwölf Bahnen - in Münster, Lünen, Dortmund, Meinerzhagen, Warendorf und Minden dabei. Bis zum Finale am 13. Dezember in Telgte stehen noch Turniere auf zwei neuen Flächen (im September auf dem Skihang im sauerländischen Bruchhausen und im November zur Allerheiligenkirmes im Stadtpark in Soest) und an vier bekannten Spielstätten (im Juli im Phoenixpark Beckum, im August am Kurpark Bad Fredeburg, im Oktober in der Alten Ziegelei in Lünen und zum Abschluss im Dezember in den Emsauen in Telgte) an.

Oftersschwang. Paul Davis hatte zum zweiten Mal in diesem Jahr gerufen und die Discgolfer kamen, um einen neuen König des Allgäu in einem B-Turnier der GermanTour des Deutschen Frisbeesport-Verbandes auszuspielen. Zum fünften Mal wurde das Turnier „Big Hill King“ ausgespielt. Bei der Premiere im Oktober 2010 hatte der Söhnstettener Michael Stelzer mit 203 Würfen gewonnen. Danach stand er zwar immer auf dem Treppchen, aber zur Krone reichte es nicht. Dritter in 2011 hinter seinem WSCA-Kollegen Dominik Stampfer (198 Würfe), Dritter hinter Sven Rippel (195) in 2012, als der Bergkamener sich wenige Wochen später im englischen Colchester die Big-Hill-Krone mit dem Juniorensieg bei der Europameisterschaft vom Kopf wischte, und Zweiter - erneut hinter Dominik Stampfer (180 !) - im Vorjahr. Die Stelzer-Bilanz von 203 (2010), 207 (2011), 202 (2012), 189 (2013) und 194 am vergangenen Wochenende ließen Michi Stelzer strahlen und erneut als King of the Allgäu die Heimreise nach Söhnstetten antreten.

Nikolai Tsouloukidse schon in EM-Form

Groß Ilsede. Mit einer starken ersten Runde legte der Hannoveraner Nikolai Tsouloukidse den Grundstein für seinen Sieg bei der 1. Peine Open Anfang Juli. Der jüngste Discgolf-Verein im Deutschen Frisbeesport-Verband, „Das Eulennest - Discgolf Club Peine“, richtete erstmals ein GermanTour-Turnier aus. Mit etwas Unterstützung von Stefan Brandes und einigen seiner Tee-Timer aus Wolfenbüttel, die den Parcours auf dem ehemaligen Hüttengelände im Peiner Ortsteil damals geplant haben, feierten die Peiner eine gelungene GT-Premiere. Selbst das Wetter spielte mit.

Kellenhusen. Christian Plaue vom Team Birdieproduction Grebenstein sicherte sich mit einem außergewöhnlichen Auftritt im Finale der 7. Kellenhusen Open, der Generalprobe für die Deutsche Meisterschaft 2015, den Sieg an der Ostseeküste. Den gleichfalls stark aufspielenden Kevin Konsorr von den DiscGolfern Münsterland nahm er in der Schlussrunde drei Würfe (!) ab, obwohl Konsorr nicht etwa ein schwaches Finale absolvierte. Platz drei ging an Torsten Baus. Vierter wurde Michael Rollnik. Torben Casser (DiscGolfer Münsterland), bei der Europameisterschaft Ende August in Genf noch in der Junioren-Division an der Scheibe, verpasste als Fünfter knapp das Finale.

Meinerzhagen. Nach einem tollen Turnier in Bad Fredeburg im Hochsauerland am Vortag, lockte es 60 Spieler, damit ein volles Teilnehmerfeld, am Sonntag (15. Juni) nach Meinerzhagen an die Jugendherberge.

Großer Discgolf-Tag: Die WestfalenTour trifft Minden beim „MEETING MI“

Minden. Bei bestem Discgolf-Wetter fand am Samstag (14. Juni) das sechste Turnier der WestfalenTour 2014, das „MEETING MI“ statt. Es war bereits das insgesamt vierte Turnier in Minden innerhalb von nur neun Monaten seit Eröffnung des Parcours „Kanzlers Weide DISCGOLF“. Mit 36 Teilnehmern waren die Organisatoren sehr zufrieden, da zur gleichen Zeit ein GT C-Turnier im nicht allzu weit entfernten Bad Fredeburg stattfand, bei dem sehr viele Spieler antraten, die in den letzten Monaten bei der WestfalenTour Stammgäste waren. Stattdessen traten in Minden erfreulicherweise überdurchschnittlich viele Einsteiger an, die bis dato noch nicht bei der WestfalenTour mitspielten.

J.D. Lizotte dominieren 2. Doubles Team Cup

Grebenstein. Sohn Jason und Vater Dave Lizotte  dominierten die zweite Auflage des Doubles-Team-Cups im nordhessischen Grebenstein. In jeder der vier Runden spielten die Bremer den niedrigsten Score. Ins abschließende Finale der besten drei Doubles gingen die Drehmomentler aus der Hansestadt mit neun Würfen Vorsprung auf Kurt König und Philipp Schuster. Bei sechs zu bespielenden Bahnen ein nicht aufholbarer Vorsprung.

Packendes Finale

Erster B-Turnier-Erfolg für Kevin Konsorr

Rüsselsheim. Die achte Auflage der Ostpark Open in Rüsselsheim war an Spannung kaum zu überbieten. Fünf Discgolfer kämpften über drei Runden, Halbfinale und Finale um den Sieg. Am Ende musste ein Stechen die Entscheidung bringen. Glücklicher Turniersieger wurde der junge Lünener kevin konsorr ostparkKevin Konsorr (DiscGolfer Münsterland), der sich an der ersten Stechbahn gegen den Heidenheimer Dominik Stampfer (WSCA Söhnstetten) durchsetzte. Platz drei ging an den frustrierten GermanTour-Sieger von 2011, Christian Plaue aus Grebenstein. Der Topfavorit auf den Sieg in Rüsselsheim scheiterte im Halbfinale, als er an einer der gelegentlich als „Minigolf-Parcours“ verspotteten Bahnen sieben Würfe benötigte. Sehr stark, aber am Ende zu nervös, präsentierte sich der Nikolai Tsouloukidse (Hyzernauts) aus Kleinmachnow. Im Finale zeigte er Nerven, sonst wäre auch der ganz große Wurf drin gewesen.

Spannend ging es auch bei den Damen, Junioren und Masters zu. Nur Grandmaster Wolfgang Kraus (Scheibensucher) aus Trebur dominierte seine Division von Beginn an. Die Entscheidungen in den anderen Divisionen fielen erst im Finale. GermanTour-Siegerin Christine Hellstern (Oberkirch) fing Dana Jung (DiscGolfer Münsterland) aus Münster ebenso ab, wie Juniorensieger Torben Casser (DiscGolfer Münsterland) aus Löningen Melwin Korth (Ostsee Discgolf Kellenhusen) aus Bönen. Masters-Akteur Klaus Kattwinkel aus Engelskirchen ging wurfgleich mit Frank Buchholz (Hamburg) ins Finale und setzte sich durch.

Europameister "patzt" an der Bahn 1

Beckum. Früh am Sonntagmorgen bot sich den Discgolfern im Beckumer Phoenixpark ein winterliches Bild. Eis auf den Seen und Teichen und leichtes taureifweiß auf den Wiesen, Büschen und Bäumen. Aber am Horizont versprach die aufgehende Sonne schon einen herrlichen Discgolf-Tag bei Temparaturen von bis zu 9 Grad. Durch die Zeitumstellung in der Nacht ging es zwar 45 Minuten früher als am Samstag los, doch tatsächlich konnten die 62 Spieler etwas länger als am Vortag schlafen.

Beckum. Bei herrlichem Sonnenschein und sven assklaren vier Grad ging die zweite Runde des B-Turniers 2. Münsterland Open im PhoenixAktivPark zu Ende. Der Führende Simon Lizotte spielte eine 56er-Runde (gesamt: 111) und baute damit seine Führung aus. Platz zwei der Gesamtwertung belegt nach zwei von drei Vorrunden bei seinem letzten Turnier vor dem Wechsel in die Open weiterhin Kevin Konsorr (119). Auf Platz drei schob sich Sven Rippel (alle drei vom Gastgeber DiscGolfer Münsterland) durch eine 62er-Runde (gesamt: 131) vor. Dabei war ihm sein Ass auf der langen Bahn 13 behilflich. Vierter ist Ralf Hüpper (132) vom Kettenjeklüngel Köln. Christine Hellstern (Discgolf Baden-Baden) darf den Schampus kalt stellen, denn mit 150 Würfen nach zwei von vier Runden (incl. Finale) dürfte sie bei den Sieg bei 24 Zählern Vorsprung vor Jutta Wenner (Discgolf Lünen Lakers) sicher haben, womit sie zugleich die GermanTour 2012 gewinnt.

Ed Headrick, damals einer der führenden Köpfe des Scheibenherstellers Wham-O, gründete Ende der 70er-Jahre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts erst die Discgolf Association und später auch die bis heute tätige PDGA  (Professional Disc Golf Association). Sie ist insbesondere für das Regelwerk, das internationale Rating der Spieler und die weltweiten Top-Turniere zuständig.

Viele wichtige Turniere in Deutschland gehören zur GermanTour der Discgolf-Abteilung im DFV. 2015 soll diese Tour zweigeteilt werden, so dass es eine Basis-Tour (Challange) und eine aus fünf Turnieren bestehende Major-GermanTour geben wird. Die Sieger der Tour stehen am 31. Oktober eines Jahres fest.
