Europäischer Flugscheiben-Verband ist WFDF-Vertretung auf dem alten Kontinent
Lecco. Am Rande der Ultimate Welt- und Europameisterschaften der Junioren im norditalienischen Lecco fand die offizielle Gründung des EFDF (European Flying Disc Federation), der Vertretung 
der Frisbeesportler in Europa, statt. Zuvor war der Zusammenschluss ein eher informelles europäisches Koordinationsgremium. An der Sitzung nahm auch der Schweizer Paul Francz, der Cheforganisatior der Discgolf-Europameisterschaft vom 20. bis 23. August in Genf, teil. Francz will am Rande der EM einen europäischen Discgolf-Verband gründen, der, analog zur Europäischen Ultimate Vereinigung, so etwas wie die Fachabteilung Discgolf in der EFDF werden. Die Europäische Ultimate-Vertretung (EUF / European Ultimate Federation) existiert schon und soll auch in den EFDF integriert werden. Vorsitzender des EDEF ist Thomas Griesbaum (Bild), der Ehrenpräsident des Deutschen Frisbeesport-Verbandes.
Auch der Vizepräsident ist ein Deutscher: André Kruse. Sekretär wurde Amandine Constant aus Frankreich. Schatzmeister ist Paul Eriksson aus Schweden. Das Vorstandsteam wird ergänzt durch die Beisitzerin Jana Vejmelkova (Tschechien). Zum erweiterten Kreis der Verantworlichen gehören für den EUF Andrea Furlan (Österreich), Pedro Vargas aus Portugal für die Beach-Ultimates und der Schweizer Paul Francz (Bild links) für die Discgolfer.
An der EFDF Gründungsversammlung in der Lombardei nahmen Teilnehmer aus Österreich, Tschechien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Niederlande, Schweden und der Schweiz teil. Insgesamt gehören dem europäischen Frisbeesport-Verband 32 Mitgliedsverbände aus 31 Ländern an.
