Stockholm. Nach der ersten Runde und damt 18 Bahnen trennen schon 22 Würfe das Schlusslicht von der Spitze. Aus deutscher Sicht höchst erfreulich ist, dass Europameister Simon Lizotte glänzend in die European Masters 2014 im Järva Discgolf-Park in Stockholm gestartet ist. Der Bremer führt mit zehn unter Par gemeinsam mit dem Dänen Karl Johan Nybo und dem Amerikaner Will Schusterick, dem Vierten der Weltmeisterschaft des vergangegen Jahres, das Feld an. Alle drei benötigten nur 54 Würfe in der ersten Runde. Auch die führende Frau, Europameisterin Ragna Bygde, die Schwedin war Vierte der Weltmeisterschaft im vergangenen Jahr, hat mit 63 Würfen den Kurspar unterspielt. Dem zweiten Deutschen, dem dies am ersten Turniertag noch gelang, war Christian Plaue (63).

Kopenhagen. Der zweite Turniertag der Kopenhagen Open machte das erste der beiden europäischen Major-Turniere in diesem Jahr spannender. In der von den Amerikanern dominierten Open rückte Paul McBeth zum bisher allein führenden Will Schusterick auf, der am Freitag satte fünf Würfe (60) mehr als am Donnerstag benötigte. Dies, obwohl McBeth mit einer 58er-Runde einen Wurf schlechter als am Vortag war. Mit seiner zweiten 58er Runde im Valbypark bewies der aktuelle Dritte Devan Owens Konstanz. Simon Lizotte spielte auch am zweiten Tag eine 60er Runde, womit er sich auf Rang zehn, fünf Würfe hinter der Spitze, festsetzte.
Bei den Damen festigte Paige Pierce (USA) die Führung. Bei den Jüngsten und den Oldies haben die Deutschen die Nase vorn. Während der Wolfenbütteler Nachwuchsspieler Marvin Tetzel am zweiten Turniertag seine Führung ausbaute, rückten die Berliner Jan Bäss und Greg Marter auf den mit Peter Bygde und Christer Köhler (beide Schweden), der damit seiner Favoritenrolle gerecht zu werden scheint, geteilten ersten Platz in der Masters vor.
