Direktmandat für Marathon-Vorsitzende
Uppenberg. Die langjährige Vereinsvorsitzende Hedwig Liekefedt ist in Uppenberg direkt in den Rat der Stadt Münster gewählt worden. Die SPD-Politikerin, die bislang schon dem Sportausschuss der Stadt angehörte, setzte sich gegen ihre Mitbewerber durch und nahm der CDU das Direktmandat rund um den Marathon-Sportplatz im Wienburgpark ab.
Für die Marathon-Familie dürfte der Erfolg ihrer Vorsitzenden Früchte tragen. Durch die sich abzeichnende Ratsmehrheit von SPD, Grünen und FDP dürfte die ins Stocken geratene Weiterentwicklung der Sportflächen an der Wienburgstraße neue Impulse bekommen. Die vom Vereinsvorstand geforderte Zwischenlösung mit einem Jugendspielfeld auf der Seite des Containers, um den bis an die Obergrenze der Verträglichkeit genutzten Marathon-Sportplatz zu entlasten, rückt sicherlich durch das Votum der Uppenberger in den Focus von Rat und Verwaltung. Die Vereinsmitglieder dürfen zudem sicher sein, dass im Ratssaal nun auch ihre Wünsche nach einem angemessenen Umkleidegebäude mit Versammlungsmöglichkeit mehr Beachtung finden werden.
Auch das DJK-Freibad Coburg könnte schon 2015 wieder wämeres Wasser haben, denn nur Hedwig Liekefedt hat sich bislang klar für den Anschluss des beliebten Bades an das Fernwärmenetz der Stadtwerke Münster ausgesprochen.
