Die dritte Runde von Marathoni Simon Lizotte bei der laufenden Discgolf-Weltmeisterschaft in Portland (USA) wurde mit 1024 geratet, was ungefähr einem Ballgolf-Handicap von -2 entspricht. Ein Ergebnis, dass den Spieler der DiscGolfer Münsterland etwas zurückwirft, denn mit nun zwei Würfen Rückstand belegt der Bremer Sportstudent derzeit Rang acht. Der Führende Paul Ullibari konnte seine Führung ausbauen und liegt nun zwei Würfe vor seinem Landsmann Richard Wysocki.
Es sind drei der sechs Vorrunden in Oregon gespielt, so dass für Simon Lizotte noch alles zwischen Bronze und Rausfall aus den Top Ten möglich ist. Der Abstand auf den Titelverteidiger Paul McBeth, der derzeit beste Discgolfer leigt auf Rang drei, ist sicherlich noch aufholbar. Allerdings kommt das regnerische Wetter heute ab 9 Uhr in Portland (18 Uhr deutscher Zeit) Lizotte nicht entgegen.
Bei den Frauen verlor die amtierende Europameisterin Ragna Bygde aus Jarfalla (Schweden) die Führung an die Amerikanerin Caterine Allen, die mit einem Wurf Vorsprung führt. Bei den Masters (40+) führt Ex-Weltmeister und Discgolf-Legende Ken Climo wurfgleich mit seinem amerikanischen Landsmann Barry Schultz.
