17 plus zwei Deutsche am Start

Genf. Heute (Mittwoch, 20. August) eröffnete um 7.30 Uhr Hannele Määttä aus Finnland mit ihrem ersten Wurf die Europameisterschaft der Discgolfer sportlich. Am Dienstagabend war im Festzelt auf dem Turniergelände die EM mit rhytmischem  Kuhglockengeläut und den offiziellen em logoAnsprachen sowie dem Playersmeeting eingeleitet  worden. Insgesamt 19 Deutsche, davon zwei jeweils in den Teams von Italien (Ann-Christin Kleimann) und Holland (Uwe Schlüter), sind bei der EM mit 94 Open-, 41 Masters-Spielern, 23 Frauen, je 18 Junioren und Grandmaster und sechs Senior Grandmastern dabei. 24 von 25 möglichen Ländern haben Spieler nach Onex, einem Vorort von Genf, geschickt. Die größten Kontingente stellen Finnland (25), Schweden (23) und Norwegen sowie Deutschland (je 17). Polen hat mit Michael Paszkowski (Open) und Slovenien mit Botjan Babic (Open) jeweils nur einen Vertreter in die Schweiz entsandt.
